Beauty may be defined as a characteristic of a person. It also provides a perceptual experience of pleasure or satisfaction to an individual-this involves seeing and appreciating.Many times, beauty is studied as part of culture. The Swahili meaning of beauty ‘Mrembo’ carries a heavier meaning, with everything being positive and good.
Beauty can also be associated with fashion. Of late, there are a number of catwalk slogans which go like ‘beauty with a purpose’, ‘beauty and brains’ and many other words which give beauty an extra reference. More and more beauty queens are joining charities for a good cause too, which makes fashion have purpose.
Beauty may be based on a combination of personality, intelligence, grace, charm, integrity, elegance and physical attractiveness, youthfulness, sexiness. Although the standards of beauty keep evolving, as the saying goes ‘Beauty is in the eye of the beholder’.
African beauties, say Oluchi and Millen, who are making it on the modeling arenas and catwalks are considered beautiful due to appearance but it stretches far more than that. One has to be disciplined and stay healthy. Their positive aspects have enabled them maintain their credentials. There are simple things to consider as a model in order to claim status for times to come.
Maintain a regular body weight. By eating healthy foods, a balanced diet, exercising or simply walking.
Be honest with integrity in the things that you are in charge of for a photo shoot and after. You will definitely be trusted for more jobs if the need arises.
